welcome back to singapore. (:

5 days passed in a flash. taiwan was fun, fun and more fun! i've gotten all the photos up in facebook, so i shall not upload them here again. go have a look at it there!


day one.
flight was in the afternoon, but we made it a point to get to the airport early such that we wouldn't have to rush. had popeye for lunch! (:

and, by the time we went into the boarding area, we weren't even early. just on time. didn't have to wait long and it's time to board the plane already. it was a 5 hours journey to taiwan and i had a great sleep. oops. there was nothing else i could do.

touched down. taoyuan international airport. gotten our luggage and headed over to the hotel. the cabbie ride was almost 45 mins. and, it was already pitch dark out there when it was only 6!

the weather is cooling and nice. i like! settled down in the hotel, plans to meet auntie was changed becos she went to taichung last min. apparently, we slacked in the hotel for about an hour before deciding to head over to ximending to have dinner.

ah chung mian xian. nice. i liked it better than the oyster ones though. cos i don't like oyster. HAHA! walked around, looking for shoes for ahma 'cos hers gave way on the plane. bought her a really nice pair of lambskin covers that she keeps saying that they are really comfortable. (:

time flew and it was almost 9. the rest of the family decided to head back to the hotel and i had to meet karlyn and pamela to pass them their stuffs. so, got back to the hotel to get the cakes and headed to ximending again with my brother. i'm quite surprised i travelled with such ease. it's like i had been there tonnes of times. ^^

met them, took a picture with pamela's camera. (and, i have yet to see it! pamela~) karlyn and her really sweet mother brought us around ximending and becos it was getting a little late, shops were already closing. went to have mango shave ice! the ice is so finely shaved! so cool. and thanks karlyn's mom for the treat! (:

day two. yangmingshan and danshui.
last min plans again to visit yangmingshan 'cos mummy wants to do some sightseeing. but, the trip there wasn't very enriching.

didn't know exactly what to expected up on the hill. except that i keep getting my ears blocked. wanted to visit the waterfall, but the walk to reach there was 1.1km. though it isn't very far, we didn't walk in, worrying that my ahma will have a hard time walking out. had lunch at a very simple and traditional 'restaurant' that served pretty normal but delicious food. the setting's really natural.

got our way out of yangmingshan and headed to danshui for sunset. nice weather, but way too cloudy for the sun to be seen. all we saw was rays of sunlight fighting their way through the clouds. yet, it was a really nice view.

danshui is just like our little east coast park. filled with people enjoying the nice weather, cycling and playing around. i felt so relaxed the minute i was there. brother and i went food hunting along the streets while the elders sat by the shore, enjoying the breeze. taiwanese sausage and grilled cuttlefish.

went over to the other side of danshui and had yonghe doujiang. yesyes, the one we have over in singapore as well. i thought taiwan ones were better, yet mummy feels that singapore ones are nicer. hmmm.

walked the other lane of night market. more food again! it's like weight gaining session for all of us. bought strawberries, as recommended by karlyn's mom, and pears. nicenice! i haven't really been shopping. besides, the clothings there this season is so not suited for singapore. hence, there's nothing much i could really get.

had supper! the location of our hotel tempts us to have dinner every night. along the streets, there's mister donut, dunkin' donut, diguagua, macs, mos and like tonnes of other things. and, it was the first night i drank my corn soup from macs and i'm missing it already! ):


day three. taipei zoo and zhongxiao fuxing.
woke up bright and early, anticipating the trip to the zoo. and wow-ed, i am surprised with the technology of the so-called ez-link card system they have there. the entrance to the zoo could be paid with their card. and another wow-ed, the entrance to the zoo is only S$3! besides, the food in the zoo is not ex like singapore. there's a whole lot of difference.

the zoo's really big. so much worth the money compared to that in singapore when you pay 5 times more and seeing 5 times less. koala, turtle, birds, reptiles and a whole lot more. maybe i should put it this way - it's zoo, bird park, reptile park and the whole load brought together into one place. (:

it was already night when we finished the place. went over to sogo for dinner. it's like a rich people's place over there. branded products, japanese stuffs and the higher end goods. had dinner at their meishijie. oh yes, they have a stall selling singapore food stuffs there. shopped a little and it was back to the hotel.


day four. miramar ferris wheel, shihlin and ximending.
there was a sudden drop in temperature! and it started raining. kinda freezing but, i was still alright with it. though it was really a wrong decision to be wearing a skirt. HAHA!

lunch-ed, shop-ped and then, we went to sit the ferris wheel. it's definitely much cheaper than singapore. but it was really fast. didn't really time it though. and there wasn't much to see, everything was foggy and misty due to the rain. and it was freezing cold up there.

shopping made up most of our time there. as it was raining, we didn't really feel like going anywhere outdoor. COLD~

it was evening already and we headed to shihlin to have some local food. and, everything is repeated there! there's this pot of i dunno what, consisting of squid, fish maw and i dunno what else at every single stall. bought oyster mianxian, crepes, white bitter gourd juice, sausages, and of course, the legendary XXL chicken. and i literally mean XXL! (:

went back to the hotel to eat and rest. ahma wanted to rest already too. too much walking for her for the day. stayed around for a while and the rest of us went over to ximending. i think i'm like hyperactive over in taiwan.

finally, it's time for shopping. i bought two pairs of shoes, two clothes for myself, two for dear and tonnes of foodstuffs. brother bought more, clothes, jeans, shoes and shades. found deardear's onitsuka shop, but i was already pretty broke to get him his shoes. we'll go get them together next year! ^^


day five. taipei 101, nangang and home.
it was raining still. temperature was still endurable though. and, finally, we made our way to taipei 101. decided not to head up the tower cos i guess it's gonna be too foggy and misty again. shopped around, taipei 101 is like our paragon. went into mont blanc and coach though. but, we didn't get anything.

headed over to nangang as ahma wanted to visit that place. had a scrumptious lunch there. not bad for a really common place like this. went to shop at carrefour and it was time to head back to the hotel to get our stuffs and leave for the airport.

reached the airport to realise that the plane was delayed. went to look around at the airport and sat down at starbucks to wait for the time to board. brother and i was as usual hyper to be seated there doing nothing, went walking around. and it seems that the plane had been changed back to the normal timing. like whatever, what is going on?

boarded the plane, in a pretty rush. but, we were not the latest. crappy system though. and off we came back to singapore.

touched down in singapore. we arrived 20 mins earlier than expected. bought stuffs at the duty free shop and went to collect our luggage. everyone was hungry from the ride, and auntie doesn't have her keys with her. so we had to delay a little time while waiting for my cousin to get home. ate supper at killiney's and home we headed. (:


i'd enjoyed myself these five days over in taiwan. and, there will definitely be a next time. i'm sure it's gonna be next year though. i wanna visit again during spring or autumn! and, the first place i wanna go the next time - TAIPEI MAIN STATION. we've changed a dozen times of train there, but i hadn't had the chance to exit and shop. not fair, but no worries. NEXT YEAR~

our cycling plan was cancelled yesterday and postponed to today. cycled from the rental shop to carl's jr on the other end, and then all the way to almost the end of the other side. and i got to see aeroplanes. iLOVE.

started at about 4 till almost 6 and off we went for dinner. we couldn't decide where to head to, though we initially wanted to go for carl's jr. but, we just had that probably a week ago. besides, it was pretty far for us to walk all the way to that end either. so, we headed to parkway parade and had ajisen!

after dinner, we went shopping around. deardear wanted to buy christmas presents for my family and it was not till my constant persuasion that he finally decided not to. haha. he bought me gifts though. iLOVEyou. (:

finally, we decided to get a log cake instead. something which everyone in the family can have, something more practical and economical. there's totally a super wide variety of log cakes available at the mall - bengawan, chocz, four leaves, polar, swensens and swiss bake. we bought four leaves in the end! it was home after that, ready for the party tomorrow.





it's TWILIGHT again!
on its official release in singapore. (:
met up with limYUMIN and yangJIAXIN today at town.
first at fareast and we practically walked through the mall without entering or looking at anything. headed over to dfs for jiaxin to spend her $40 voucher.

it's like a visiting session for me though. it's been really long since i last visited them over there. glad that mum and lilian were working. had a nice chat with them, also with the rest of them there.

finally, jiaxin spent her voucher at mac. bought some foundation powder, i don't know what. left there, and continued to roam the streets.

jus like what jiaxin said, "today's the official release date, but everyone has already caught the movie already". and us, being her very nice friends, decided to watch it with her again, together with my dear.

went over to cine to get the tickets and then, headed to long john for dinner. we are all pretty broke, hence we made do with ljs. (:

camwhored a lot with my camera since we met. at dfs, to taka's toilet and outside, to cine's escalator, to heeren and its shops, to ljs and finally, on our way to dhoby and home. (:





finally, the meet-up with xuehua when as planned. (:

met her at cityhall and headed for lunch at marina square, some ramen shop. oops. forgot the shop's name though. the char siew ramen was yummy and filling. sat there for almost 3 hours, gossiping and complaining. we'll meet up soon!

left at about 4 to meet deardear at cathay for 3D BOLT! (:


the show was really nice. i like 3D! everyone should watch the 3D version too! coincidentally, limYUMIN, yeoHUIQI and their little friend were watching the exact same show as us!


today's gonna be a day home for me. i've got an icecream craving though. (:



i bought my cute and prettaye pink T700 camera!


went to collect my red specs from 85 after having lunch at home. walked around a little and then, headed over to town. with mummy and ahma.

headed straight to taka's best and now, i own the pink little thingy. (:

mummy went for her hair appointment and i brought ahma to have coffee, while waiting for deardear to come join us. went to shop a little at taka and then, over to wisma for dinner.

food republic was packed with diners. it's just a common sight and i wasn't surprised by that. but the fact that a big, fat, ugly old man has to fight with me for a table was a shame. the family who was seating at the table even stood up and gestured for me to go have a seat when they were leaving. BUT, that fugly, old man claimed that they were here first. the only thing that occurred to me at that point in time is, "if you think that you are so rich and high above everyone else, don't come to a food court and SNATCH seats from the commoners". PISSED.

well, i was nice enough not to start a huge commotion. thanked the leaving family and walked away. luckily, ahma found another table not too far away.


our plans with huien and oliver to head to wild wild wet was cancelled due to the unduly weather. it was raining since the early morning till early in the evening. i think i'm really cursed.

every time there's a outdoor event planned amongst us, it would rain. HAHA.

so, we stayed home for half the day till evening when the rain eventually stopped and headed over to suntec cos i wanna see the precious moments christmas display.

brought my new camera and we were busy playing with the smile detection function. it was really hilarious and funny. (:







it was twilight today!

before meeting the rest of them for the movie, i went for an interview for the position of marketing exec at dreamworks advertising.

the interview was fine. it was a mass recruitment that the company was having. and, i supposed it was more of direct sales and events than what i expected it to be. so, whether they get back to me or not, it doesn't really matter actually. =x


met karlyn after the interview at dhoby for lunch at mos. it was kinda rush for us. had a pretty quick lunch and walked over to cine for our show.

twilight was great! although it isn't exactly perfect, but it was afterall still good. edward is cute, but a little too fair. his entrance wasn't grand enough, i felt. it could have been better. and, i thought carlisle, his father, is cuter and more charming. oops. =x

i promise i'll catch twilight again with deardear. (:



i had just spent the past two days packing my wardrobe. it was once a pile of messy clothes and now, it's finally neat and tidy. it's a mission that i had wanted to complete since i don't know when, and now it's finally done. a load off my back. (:


it's meet-up with the little girls @ town today!
karlynHO, pamelaWONG, sammieTAN, limYUMIN, yeoHUIQI.

well, 3 of us were late while the other 3 of them were shopping at borders. went over to pepper lunch were the 3 of them had lunch and the other 3 of us stared at them eat.

it was then over to cine 'cos there's twilight sneaks tomorrow. and, 5 of us bought our tickets! and, the rain had to pour at this time. so, being stuck at cine, we sat at koufu and started displaying our artistic talents on naima's hands. (:


oh yes, and amidst that, we found out that naima has really soft and flexible fingers!



soon, most of them left. leaving only me and limYUMIN to roam the streets. went over to takashimaya and then met my deardear at kino. invited the girlgirl to join us for dinner, but she didn't want. and thus, we went on separate ways soon after.

wanted to have kfc at taka, but it was pretty packed and the single seats that were available wasn't the exact place i would want to sit at to eat a meal. oops. i'm fussy. =x

so, we had dinner at fareast's carl jr and then, it was home sweet home. (:


it's twilight tomorrow!



i shall officially declare that i have a strong heart, afterall.
it's like three times in a row i was given a surprise by different people on different days.

met deardear to walk around central, cos he claims that we haven't been there officially to walk and shop around. but, i guess i was just as dumb and naive as i was as per always when we were busy hunting around for the pasta de waraku the whole time!

it was like, i saw it somewhere and he suddenly mentioned it. so, i was quite into searching for it for him. but, how would i know there was something planned. nothing occured to me until i was being asked to enter the restaurant when we jus had a drink at yakun. it's like so uber weird.

i didn't want to enter though. but, he PULLED me in. at this time, i knew someone was there. so, i went in, looking around very cautiously, just in case i get someone popping out right in front of me.

luckily, they were a bunch of pretty quiet and mild girls, who once again, were covering their faces with the menus. HAHA, such a familiar scene. the second time i see it this week. (:

it was cake-cutting, wish-making and candle-blowing. then, sat around to chat a little while the three of them had their dinner, i supposed. camwhored just before i left them and planned for our next meeting next week! (:





went off to meet my family for dinner at east coast's aston. the queue was long and thankfully, my brother was there to queue. had a really filling dinner and it was already 9 plus. so, my parents took a cab home with my grandmother. and, we took a stroll home from east coast.


this year's birthday had been a really memorable one for me. although it was filled with tonnes of shock and 'lies' in a way, but the surprises really took me aback. they were really sweet.

THANK YOU, everyone of you who have had a part in making this birthday a different one for me! those involved in the planning, my dearest deardear, nic korkor, huien girl, and also those that were there to make it happen, the cute three little girls - yumin, karlyn and pamela. and, not forgetting, those who had sent all your well-wishes once again.

i had another surprise again yesterday. this is the year that i had so much surprises! but, i might have a weak heart.

anyway, THANKS to my deardear! and, that nice person who called me and asked me to go downstairs in the middle of the night, too! you know who you are. =p


it was really heart-warming to see messages from those that were hardly in contact. yet, they never fail to remember this special day of mine. there's always a flip side to anything i guess. but, on this fine and great day, i shall only look on the bright side and be a happy little birthday girl! (:

at this very last minute of the day, the no-longer-a-student girl is here to update a post!

1st December 2008 marks the last day of me being a student.
the journey ahead seems so unclear and intangible, but well, i'll cope just well when the time comes. now, it's time for me to take a well-deserved break before everything else that may or should come comes along. (:


was overwhelmed by three of my dearest - deardear, korkor and huien girl, at dinner tonight. it was a post-examination cum advance birthday celebration for me, afterall. but, yet, the naive and retarded me didn't notice anything amiss until it all happened. how dumb can i get.

i'm so often tricked by people. BAHH. is this good or bad?


here's what happened. i was told by my oh-so-good korkor to accompany him to meet some girl he met online for dinner, and becos my deardear claimed that he has to be in camp till late as he has to load up stuff for his sailing trip tomorrow, i agreed.

the arranged meeting time and venue was 7.30pm at wheelock. sounds relatively convincing to me though. oh yes, before that, huien girl has to forget her phone today and she called me out of the blue this morning to get korkor's number from me, claiming that she wants to get some recipe from him. yesyes, i believed.

so, there i went, hoping to meet someone new, this very similar girl sat at the table of sun with moon looking so suspicious. and well, it was phoon huien girlgirl. one surprise was not enough. maybe, for someone else, they would have thought and suspected something already. but, I DID NOT!

i happily, though curiously sat there, looking through the menu, searching for what to order. and this time, my dear korkor wants to go to the toilet. nothing suspicious, actually. but, he just came from there when he met me! and i let him go still.

suddenly, someone pops up behind me with this lovely little cake from swiss bake. and well, everyone should know who. i felt so....... hmmm, how should i describe. shocked and surprised, yet feel so betrayed. everyone was lying to me! BAHH.








but, well, i sincerely and truthfully thank the three of you for this lovely surprise.
it was really sweet and memorable!
